Immigration Anniversary

Today it's been two years since we moved to San Francisco. I should not really say "immigration" since we are here on a non-immigrant visa and I do not want to get in trouble with the officials... Anyway, I think it's a good moment to look back and remember what I love about SF and the US and what I do not find so great. Here's my very personal, random list as of today (ask me tomorrow and everything will be different):

I do love...
...the Ocean
...the Inner Sunset
...the Rainbow Grocery
...eating at Pomelo Friday nights
...the fog
...the Golden Gate Park
...the Golden Gate Bridge
...the incredibly blue sky on sunny days
...the smell of the Eucalyptus trees
...organic decaf coffe to go in my own mug
...the return policy
...Mason jars
...the sweets of Cafe Gratitude
...Montana
...bison burger
...fire trucks
...our huge fridge
...police men with boots on motorcycles
...the real food movement
...the Weston A. Price Foundation
...my knowledge from Bauman College
...the warming hut
...REI
...avocados and heirloom tomatoes
...the "handmade" movement
...the convenience

I am annoyed by (politically correct list)...
...the convenience
...idling cars
...the tons of reckless drivers
...the tons of reckless people who choose not to be aware of their surroundings
...the populousness of the City
...the noise in the City
...the attitude that San Francisco and California are the best place on earth
...the attitude that Europe is soo faaaar behind with everything
...the bad pavement on many streets in San Francisco
...the myth of the American Dream
...the poor quality of everything except Mason jars and fire trucks
...the hypocritical green movement
...that live in this city is exhausting

...mein Wissen vom Bauman College
