San Francisco Picture

We went to the Divisadero Art Walk last night. It was really fun to discover that this street is home to some really nice shops, galleries and bars. Up until now we thought of Divisadero street only as one of the streets with really bad pavement and long intervals at the red light when riding down Page Street :-) The reason that I discovered the Art Walk was that I wanted to check out Hilary Williams' pictures for a long time. As part of the Art Walk she had the closing reception of an exhibition. We bought this really cool picture with a bike theme - a place to hang it still has to be determined...

Gestern Abend fand der Divisadero Art Walk statt. Die Divisadero Street ist bisher v.a. wegen ihrem schlechten Belag und den langen Wartezeiten an der Kreuzung mit der Page Street aufgefallen. Der Art Walk wurde von den ansässigen Restaurants und Geschäften zwecks Aufwertung der Gegend ins Leben gerufen und es war durchaus interessant zu sehen, dass es neben heruntergekommenen Fastfood Lokalen mit billigen Leuchtreklamen auch ein paar wirklich nette Bars und Geschäfte gibt. Der Grund, wieso wir den Art Walk überhaupt entdeckt haben, war, dass ich schon länger mal die Bilder von Hilary Williams anschauen wollte. Sie lud im Rahmen des Art Walks zu einen Apero als Abschluss ihrer Ausstellung in einer der Galerien. Die Bilder haben alle einen Bezug zu San Francisco und mir gefällt ihr Stil sehr gut. Als Anfang haben wir uns nun mal dieses Bild mit Fahrradmotiv gekauft.
